Missed the Train: Staff Picks

Andrew Kearns - Portra 160+++
I can´t really describe why I like this shot. I love the glowing highlights and how tiny the little human in the middle seems to be in between these huge trees. It´s just so magical. If it would be my photo I would print it as big as possible! Really awesome image!! - Sven Malojlo

Brandon Hunter - Tribe Archipelago LXC
This gorgeous dog makes me want to have a puppy. Just love the color tones of the photo and pose of the model. - Alena Milkovic

Bruno Giacco - Agfa Color 400
I love the vibe of this. Using the double exposure in this with the two different poises makes this image very sexy and mysterious. It make the viewer want to see more. - Ari Dorfman

Daniel Wesley
I love the feel of this photo by Daniel Wesley. The colour, the light, the jacket, the stance give it a really cool vibe. - Chris Parkinson

Emilie Iggiotti - Red Leaf FE04
This reminds me of a fashion photo from the 60s. The expression and posture is lovely. The lines of the windows add an interesting element to the photo. Love everything about this one. - Jacob Loafman

Liberty Kifer
I love the soft simple lighting and the story it tells. Apparently taken in her apartment, you see her keyboard and the murphy bed against the wall acting as a solid background which I think just everything together tells a fantastic story. Like a biographical statement of what's happening in her life at this point. Great photo. - Jarrett Hucks

Samantha Overway-VanderMolen - Kodak Gold 100

I just love this image so much, for one thing, I think she is right, new moms do feel a little out of focus. For another, I was present for the birth of this little Raven girl and it was the most magical thing ever so I feel a connection with this image in a way others probably don't. Plus the light is magical and I think as artists we all think to much about photographs being classically 'good' when there is so much amazing stuff going on in even the most out of focus images. - Rachel Kaye
