The groom's mom was dying of cancer so they moved up the wedding date hoping she would make it until the wedding. She did in fact make it, but had to be escorted down the aisle on a stretcher while on oxygen. She had a dance with her son also from her wheelchair. Here's what I originally posted in the FB group, "Yesterday was likely the most difficult wedding I've photographed. The groom walked his dying mom down the aisle in a stretcher. I contemplated making this photo black and white for drama, however, I started with TRI-X and converted to color. She deserves color. She is dying from breast cancer. I watched my own mom die from cancer so it brought up so many feelings I had to prevent myself from having anxiety by reminding myself that this was not about me. It was about them and I was just there to document their memories. But somehow I knew that the fact that I've lived this made me view the day differently. Through the entire process we weren't sure if she was going to make it to the wedding date that was already moved up... but with amazing family, friends, doctors and wedding vendors it happened. She wasn't having it any other way." She has since passed away.
