Lear Miller from Arizona had a pretty epic engagement shoot in one epic canyon. Let's see what she has to say about it !
Justine and Luke had originally come to me with the idea of hiking down to Havasupai falls in the Grand Canyon for their engagement shoot.
I was thrilled with the idea, however we soon realized that the wait list was 6 months out for the hiking permit.
So I came back to them with the idea of going to Lake Powell and Page AZ. So that next week on a Tuesday after they got off work with no direction or plan we set off together on the 5hr drive from Phoenix to Page AZ. That night in the hotel I was in panic, we had come all this way and I wasn’t sure where to shoot the following day. I really wanted to boat out to a place called Reflection Canyon however a $500 boat rental and 4 hr boat trip was a little much. So I looked into kayaking into antelope canyon and it turned out to be one of the most scenic trips of my life, the cool shaded canyon and glass smooth water made the hour long paddle in a breeze. Once we got deep into the canyon Justine and Luke brought a 2nd change of clothes and we proceeded with the shoot And to top things off even more, we made it out of the canyon just in time to race up to Horseshoe Bend and catch an amazing sunset!
Shot on:

- Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art
- Canon 24-105 f4
- Canon 85 1.8
Lit with canon 600ex speedlights and a rapidbox.
